Early treatment

Even in the primary dentition, it’s possible to identify whether dental or jaw misalignments may occur later. This means: As early as when your child is of preschool age (from 4 to 5 years old), an orthodontic examination is recommended. The effort for you and your child is minimal, but the benefit is very significant.

Through early treatment between the ages of 5 and 10, it’s possible to identify many future problems and counteract them in time. For example, this can prevent an incorrect tooth and jaw position from negatively affecting the development of the dentition. Bad habits such as thumb sucking, nail biting, incorrect swallowing patterns, as well as malfunctions of the tongue and lips are detected early and corrected through habit retraining and treatment (sometimes in collaboration with a speech therapist).
