Fixed Multibracket Appliances

Loose bracket If a bracket on your brace has come loose, carefully detach it from the archwire (the treatment arch) if possible. It will be reattached at the next appointment.

Loose bracket still attached to the archwire Please remove it yourself if it is chafing. Otherwise wait until the next appointment. If you are unsure, please call us.

Bent archwire end You can try to carefully bend the archwire with your finger so that it does not bother you when chewing or speaking. We will give you special protective wax with which you can cover the affected area well in such cases. Still arrange an appointment with us so that we can help you quickly.

Broken archwire The archwire is broken and poking into your cheek? Cover the broken end with protective wax so that you don’t injure yourself and arrange an appointment with us.

Elastic bands are lost This is not serious. At the next regular check-up in our practice, we can replace the elastic bands.

Archwire has come loose from the brackets Ask your parents to carefully push the arch back into the brackets. Call us to arrange an appointment so that we can check or reattach the archwire.

Playground injuries / sports injuries: split lip See a dentist as soon as possible who can assess the situation and, if necessary, treat the injury. If you went to another colleague for initial care: Please report the accident to us so that we can check whether the fixed brace is still intact.
